Outline of the Descendants

of Karl Franz Xavier Khym, the earliest known Khym,
from the late 1700s,
when he was a magistrate in Mannheim, capital of the Electoral Rhine Palatinate,
through the early and middle 1800s,
when his two sons,
Karl Josef Khym and Anton Maria Khym,
were prominent in the Empire of Austria, the Kingdom of Westphalia,
the Kingdom of Prussia and the Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau,

.

and when his grandson, Edmund Ernst Khym,
the first American Khym,
left Europe in 1848-49 to emigrate to the United States,
finally settling in Quincy, Illinois,

.

and continuing through the late 1800s,
when his great-grandchildren,
Hedwig Agatha Khym (m. Gustav Wilhermsdorfer)
and
Gustaf Adolf Khym (m. Mary Lee)
moved to Chicago, Illinois,

.

where their children and grandchildren
married into many of the earliest families
of Irish, English, German, Polish, Jewish, and Swedish extraction in that area.
